I had the privilege of working closely with Mahesh on the Western Sydney Airport Metro project, which encompassed the design and construction of six new Metro stations, extensive civil works, and both north and south tunnel sections. Mahesh was a key contributor to the project’s success, distinguishing himself through his technical expertise and exemplary professional conduct.
Mahesh’s in-depth knowledge and hands-on management of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS) were instrumental throughout the design and construction phases. He consistently demonstrated a proactive and solution-oriented approach, ensuring that RAMS requirements were not only met but exceeded. His ability to seamlessly integrate RAMS principles into complex project stages greatly enhanced the performance, safety, and reliability of our work.

It has been my pleasure to know Mahesh for circa 20 years where we first met on the Lane Cove Tunnel project. His role at the time was tunnel design manager, reporting to me as the Project Construction Director. During this time Mahesh always displayed a thorough and in-depth knowledge of design/ engineering principles that spearheaded the timely delivery of design ahead of construction and program requirements. With the focus shifting from road to rail projects, Mahesh's focus also shifted from design delivery to taking an active leadership role in Requirements Management and Safety Assurance successfully delivering Glenfield to Leppington Rail Link (GLRL) project & both the TSC and TSE tunnel projects, with me, for Sydney Metro. In addition to this and given that Completions is inextricably linked with Requirements Management, Mahesh was also instrumental in developing the suit of AMI documents as well as being the architect for well-structured roadmaps for Completion of the abovementioned projects.
